Back with another week of the National Crawford Roundtable podcast. Myself, Bob Duco out of Detroit. Neil Boron, Neil Boron Live out of Buffalo, New York. John Rush, Rush Reason out of Denver, Colorado, not with us today. So we’ll just make fun of him behind his back, Neil. It’s always fun to do that, yeah. I know. You know, we got a lot to talk about today. Obviously, you got the election results from yesterday. We record this podcast on Wednesday morning. And so we’re seeing the pretty much Democrat sweep. I mean, it was a blue wave. Democrats had their way and they had their way large last night in several states. different elections. We’re going to be talking about those. We’ll also talk about what this means for the government shutdown, as well as maybe a little bit about Dick Cheney and his death this week as well. So, Neil, there’s a lot of things to discuss here. Let me give first an overview of the sweep that the Democrats had last night. I want to get your thoughts on that as well, and then we’ll kind of start breaking it down and looking at these races individually. But in Virginia, it was a Democrat sweep. You had Abigail Spanberger, the Democrat, who beat Winsome Sears, the Republican, by the way, the African-American, not African-American, Jamaican-American Republican, okay, the black immigrant Republican, A loss, but Abigail Spanberger wins by really a landslide. Then in Virginia, you get the lieutenant governor, this Hindu Muslim, Ghazlana Hashmi, who wins again in a landslide. Then in Virginia, you’ve got the attorney general’s race, Jay Jones. This is the guy who this Democrat who posted a wish that his political opponent, state speaker of the House, Todd Gilbert, would be killed with two bullets to the head and then fantasized about his two little children dying in their mother’s arms. That’s not enough. to stop the Democrats from voting for him as Attorney General, and he unseated the Republican Attorney General there. Incredible. And you go to New Jersey, Mikey Sherrill, the Democrat, she wins in a landslide over the Republican, Jack Ciattarelli. And then New York City, your backyard, Neal. Zoran Mamdani, who is not just a Muslim, an anti-Semite, an open socialist, basically a communist, And he beats Andrew Cuomo, fellow Democrat, who’s not really a fellow Democrat. Andrew Cuomo is kind of an establishment Democrat. He’s a former governor of New York State and couldn’t even beat this guy. Mamdami wins again in pretty much a landslide. And then out in California, Proposition 50. passes by a landslide, which allows California to go ahead and redistrict, gerrymander their districts to pick up probably five additional Democrat seats in the House of Representatives in California. So there’s no denying this, Neil, that this was a huge sweep for Democrats yesterday. On a side note, we’ll talk about this a little bit later on, but on a side note, you watch. I’m going to make a prediction. Now, suddenly, after over a month of government shutdown and the Democrats refusing to accept a clean CR, you watch. I predict, Neil, within the next few days, before the end of this weekend, suddenly Democrats are going to go, oh, okay, well, we’ll compromise and accept the clean CR. And they’ll do this because… They couldn’t do it before this election. They couldn’t risk angering their leftist extremist socialist base right before the elections yesterday. But I look at this, and Neil, and I’m trying to figure out, first of all, is this potentially a long-term positive thing because that just means there’ll be blowback by next year’s midterms from a bunch of socialists and Muslims and leftists getting power, or is Is this maybe the beginning of the Muslim takeover of America with the lieutenant governor of Virginia, Muslim, with Mamdani in New York City, Muslim, and the socialist redefining of America? So I don’t know. Is this a new leftist day or is this just a temporary blurb and we’re going to get some blowback next year? What’s your overall take when you got up this morning and saw the sweep the Democrats had?
SPEAKER 03 :
On the is it a Muslim takeover thing? I’d say not yet. However, every marathon begins with a single step, right? You got to take the first step to run 26 miles. So, yeah, it’s starting right there. It’s starting. I don’t think we’re going to see massive, significant, you know, election of radical Muslims yet. But we know that’s the long term plan that I mean, that’s exactly what happened in Europe and is happening in Europe. And it’s going to happen here unless we wake up and pay attention to what’s going on and what the overall game plan is of people who want to infiltrate and conquer, bottom line. But the overall take on it, I mean, yeah, it was kind of shocking to see all the blue on the screen. It was a blue wave in that sense, at least in these key races. And there may be some down ballot stuff where Republicans made a couple of gains here or there, but largely the whole focus is these key races that you outlined so well. And but all of them were home games, like I’ll just call it a home game, meaning like in, you know, in the in the race with Mamdami and Cuomo. I know we’ll talk more about it in a minute, but you got a radical, progressive, new new age Democrat, whatever you’d refer to Mamdami as and, you know, all kinds of crazy ideas and, and stuff. He brings along with him a lot of baggage in terms of what he’s said publicly, what he’s done publicly, but he was running against realistically, Andrew Cuomo, another, you said establishment Democrat. It’s a good word. Yeah. There was a Republican in the race, but barely. And New York city is locked down blue for all the days. And even all the more days, like, you know, that’s a term we throw around here in New York, but, um, The reality is New York is a blue state and it’s really except, you know, for the rural areas, all the rural areas are red and it’s relatively conservative in rural areas. But all the cities, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany and, of course, New York City. And the other thing is that New York City is almost a state unto itself, really. I mean, there’s just so much. voting power there and money and influence in New York City. It almost overpowers Albany, which is a state capital. So I don’t know. I mean, this was Democrats running against Democrats for the most part in New York City. So you got to figure a Democrat’s going to win. But the idea that Andrew Cuomo, who was the governor of New York State, gets handled by a 30 something year old guy with no political experience really is shocking. I think everybody ought to wake up and smell the roses on that. And then what happened in some of these other states, pretty troubling as well. And, you know, I know we can kind of flesh it out and break down the details, but yeah, it was pretty shocking to see the paper this morning and realize what happened yesterday.

Well, I’ll tell you what, we’re going to, we’re certainly going to be talking about each of these individual races. I mean, we’re going to start in just a minute with what happened in Virginia, of course, which is sad. I mean, there’s no getting around it. It’s just a sad thing that happened.

We’ll start with the gubernatorial race. The Democrat Abigail Spanberger beats the Republican challenger Winsome Earl Sears. Winsome Sears, she’s the current lieutenant governor of Virginia. And she gets beat and she gets beat in the landslide because Democrats overwhelmingly rallied around Spanberger. You know, I have to say that to me, this is it’s not just the Democrats having their way right now, but they’re also exposing their absolute hypocrisy in their their smearing of Winsome Sears the way that they have. Winsome Sears has everything, Neil, that the Democrats claim democracy. that they value. Because, you know, the Democrats, they’re all about identity politics. They don’t talk the issues. They’re about identity politics. Well, Winsome Sears is the tailor-made, you know, tailor-made candidate for these kind of identity politics. First of all, here’s a woman. Think about this story. Think You’ve not heard a peep from any Hollywood celebrities, any Democrats, any news media, anybody that claims to have such a tender heart for these kinds of stories. Winsome Sears is a black woman. She was born in Jamaica. She came over here as an immigrant, a legal immigrant, as a child. She was so poor that she lived in a homeless shelter, a Salvation Army homeless shelter. But what does she do? She embraces the American dream. She grows up. She joins the Marine Corps, becomes a veteran. She then becomes a business owner. She then goes on to help the homeless and becomes the director of the very same Salvation Army homeless shelter that she used to sleep in. Okay, now she’s the director of that. And she continues working her way up to be elected as lieutenant governor of the state of Virginia. And by the way, this made her the first black woman ever elected to statewide office in Virginia. The first ever female lieutenant governor of Virginia. The first ever black lieutenant governor of Virginia. And if she had been elected as governor… She would have been not only the first female governor in Virginia’s history, the first ever black person that’s governor in the history of Virginia, but she would have governed out of Richmond, Virginia, which was the capital of the Confederacy. So you talk about a historic moment to have a black woman immigrant. sitting in the governor’s office in the very city that was the capital of the Confederacy. And I’m just wondering, hey, Hollywood celebrities, where are you? Whoopi Goldberg, where are you? Barack Obama, why did you come out and openly tell people not to vote for her? Okay, I’ll tell you what, Neil, you cannot come up with a more tailor-made human interest story for everything the Democrats claim that they value and celebrate It’s just a bunch of hypocrisy. They only care about power. They’re full of hate for anything conservative. And that’s the driving identity of who they are.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. And my hope is that some people listening to this right now are paying attention to what you’re saying, Bob, because this Completely fits the bill of what their normal narrative would be. But there’s one problem. She doesn’t subscribe to their political viewpoints. You know, she’s not.
SPEAKER 02 :
She dares to be. Oh, by the way, I’m sorry, Neil. She’s a born again evangelical Christian. Oh, well, that out. She happens to be conservative politically, but she’s a born again evangelical Christian who openly wears her faith in Jesus Christ on her sleeve.
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay, so what does that tell us? It tells us that Democrats who say they value these things are lying to us, and you’re being lied to. If you’ve bought into the narrative that all of these things matter, you’re being lied to by the Democrat Party. And the other thing is this whole idea of that really blacks can’t succeed in america because of white privilege and and so they need the help of the democrat party they it’s really what some refer to as a plantation mindset that the government will bail you out we’ll take care of you because you’re not capable of succeeding on your own for crying out loud you can’t even get to the dmv to get your own id taken care of because you know you probably can’t find a ride there or it would be too cumbersome upon you to do that You know, that’s what many blacks have been told. And for some reason, they’re buying that lie. She flies in the face of all of that. She says it’s not true because her life speaks volumes. And, man, they’ve got to shut her out. They’ve got to keep her out of the spotlight because she completely blows up their narrative and makes it irrelevant. And I hope people are paying attention to that.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, I hope so, too, because it again, everything that the Democrats claim that they value, they don’t. What they are is the party of hate about they’re about hating anything conservative, anything right wing and especially anything connected to Donald Trump. I mean, look at how they treat Melania Trump. Melania Trump has everything that the liberal left claims that they value. Everything that the gals on The View should be reaching for a Kleenex over. She’s an immigrant. She brings multiculturalism to the White House as an immigrant first lady. She’s a former fashion model, yet Vogue magazine won’t put her on the cover like they did Michelle Obama year after year. OK. And by the way, Melania Trump also happens to be a New York Times number one selling author. That’s right. Best selling author. And she she also is intelligent. She speaks five languages. English is her fifth language. Everything about her is what the left should be celebrating. And by the way, one thing I don’t like about Michelle Obama is. She’s pro-choice on the abortion issue. But still, because she’s married to Donald Trump, they can’t bring themselves to embrace her. They make fun of her. Jimmy Kimmel was mocking her accent on his show one night. So back to Virginia, though. Once again, Neil, it just shows that the liberal left, they don’t value the things they claim to value. They only value pushing their liberal left-wing ideology, hating on conservatives, and trying to get power, plain and simple. They merely use identity politics of people’s skin color, their ethnicity, their sexuality, their gender. They use those things as the cover for for their real agenda, which is to just push liberal left-wing ideology. And unfortunately, a lot of Americans are falling for it, as we saw yesterday. So it just exposes who they are.
SPEAKER 03 :
And by the way, the woman elected, the Democrat, Abigail Spanberger, is a radical pro-abort.
SPEAKER 02 :
Radical. Oh, I know. I know. So that’s who. And you know what? And she didn’t win by a little. She won by a lot. She won by like over 15 points. So it’s, you know, what are you going to do? All right. Then in Virginia, you get the lieutenant governor’s race. And the Republican loses to the Democrat, Ghazala Hashmi, who is a Hindu Muslim who And this is also the first Muslim ever elected to statewide office in Virginia. So this is who we have in Virginia now, the governor, a radical liberal leftist, and the lieutenant governor, a Muslim. And so, you know, I don’t know. We talked about this a little bit earlier, but what are your thoughts, Neil, on an entire state electing a Muslim for the first time to statewide office, lieutenant governor? I mean, we’ll get to Mamdami in a little bit in the second half, but your thoughts just on this in Virginia. Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, it’s very shocking, and to be honest, going all the way back, I probably said this years ago here on the roundtable, but looking at 9-11 after the terrorist attacks, and I know that there’s disputes about what really happened that day and the whole deal, but the point is we were told and we believed in everything. that Muslims got on airplanes and flew them into the buildings here in the US and that we were under attack, and that all of this was orchestrated by Osama bin Laden. So how unbelievable was it that only a few short years later, our president that’s elected has Hussein as his middle name, Something dramatic happened in those years, and it’s continuing. So we’re seeing things happen now that some might just call progress. They’re just like, hey, we’re a big melting pot. All this kind of stuff should happen eventually. But I think it’s more coordinated than that. And I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist, Bob, but I do believe that there’s big dollars pushing some of these things.
SPEAKER 02 :
George Soros pumps a whole lot of money on those people.
SPEAKER 1 :
Clearly.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, working the levers behind the curtain, right? So, I mean, we’re going to be seeing more of these kinds of things happen, and I think we really need to pay attention to where all of this is headed, because ultimately, one step at a time, I mean, how do you eat an elephant, right? One bite at a time. Eventually, we’re going to lose complete control, and true-blooded Americans, people that came here legally and so forth, and and are qualified to vote, you know, ultimately are going to be pushed to the sides as other people make their way in and the power and the circles of influence and power begin to shift in the United States. That’s where we’re going. And pay attention.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, we hear from the left also that, oh, we just need to tone down the rhetoric, okay? We can’t be rewarding hate speech and speech that can spur violence and whatever. The attorney general race in Virginia. All right. Jason Maris is the incumbent attorney general. So you’re the incumbent attorney. You should be able to hold on to your seat. All right. He’s the Republican. But know who’s the Democrat that runs against him for attorney general? Jay Jones. All right. Jay Jones is the one who posted a wish, a fantasy that his political opponent, the state speaker of the House, Republican Todd Gilbert won. would be assassinated with two bullets to the head. He also fantasized about his two little children dying in their mother’s arms. He told a Republican lawmaker for the state the answer to crime is more dead cops, okay? And this is a guy… Which, by the way, he denied saying that, and it’s a he said, she said, because we don’t – but the other stuff, you can’t deny. He posted it publicly. Did he apologize? Yes, he apologized for saying the things about executing his political opponent and his two children dying. So I’m glad he apologized. And as Christians – Of course, we accept his apology, whether it’s genuine or not. That’s between him and God. We can’t know his heart, all right? But what we can do is we can judge him by his fruit and determine whether or not he should be the chief law enforcement officer of a state who’s going to treat Republicans and Democrats equally under the law. And this is where, Neil, certainly as Christians, we have to believe in forgiveness, and we do. And so… You know, I absolutely think the Christians in Virginia should forgive him in their heart when he apologizes for saying those things. Okay, fine, even though he probably just said it for political expediency, but whatever, whatever, okay. But that doesn’t mean that you give him your vote to be the chief law enforcement officer of the state. I mean, look, if I’ve got somebody… who molests children, okay? And then that person apologizes and asks for forgiveness. I believe that we should extend them forgiveness, but that doesn’t mean that we go ahead and let them babysit our children in the future. All right. Absolutely. There’s wisdom that you need to exercise here so you can forgive someone while still not rewarding them with positions of influence that could put other people potentially in danger. And my goodness, this guy won by a landslide. Neil, real quick, your thoughts on just about 30 seconds until the break, and then we’ll talk a little bit more about it on the other side.

Yeah, well, I mean, there’s more we could say about what you’re describing, but something else came to mind while you were speaking, and it goes hand in hand with this. Luke 6, 45 tells us that the good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil, for his mouth speaks that which fills his heart. I think we ought to take a good, hard, long look at what was in the heart of this man, J. Jones, and then remember that the people in the state of Virginia elected him to serve as attorney general. And, you know, you get what you vote for. So let’s see where this goes. But it’s shocking.

Can I say something else about Virginia? Yeah. I mean, I don’t know if you’re going to go there, but They lost a number of seats in the House of Delegates, you know, in both houses in Virginia, down ballot kind of races. So Democrats had a big win kind of windfall day in Virginia yesterday. You might have been on the verge of saying that, but I didn’t want to move to New Jersey or anything else before we talk about the rest of that.
SPEAKER 02 :
No, but that’s a good point that you bring. I mean, Virginia has they’re not a purple state at all. They have absolutely gone deep sea blue. So which is really unfortunate.
SPEAKER 03 :
They went from Democrats held 51 of the 100 seats in the House of Delegates and the unofficial results appeared as though Democrats had flipped 13 of those seats, which would give them 64 to the Republicans, 36. So, you know, I don’t want to dismiss, by the way, I called it a home. field advantage kind of thing, like a home game type thing with what generally happened with Democrats across the country. But I do think Republicans better be paying attention because there definitely was something happening yesterday, some kind of blowback. And maybe we’ll analyze a little bit more about what that was. But I think that there’s a lot of discontented people right now. And the Democrats did a little better than the Republicans thought they would.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, the polls so far seem to be showing that the government shutdown was a big part of it. And for whatever reason, they’re blaming the Republicans, which is just mind-blowing. We’ll get to that a little bit later. But New Jersey, not a lot to talk there. But, you know, again, it’s a blue wave. The Democrat, Mikey Sherrill, she beats – The Republican Jack Ciattarelli by quite a bit looks like about 13 points or so. So New Jersey, they go Democrat certainly as well. But what do you really expect? I mean this is Chris Christie country and the state has really gone more and more liberal left wing. The only time a Republican could ever win governorship there is if you’re a Chris Christie kind of leftist.

But I think – hang on because I think – I just think the trend though that needs to be – paid attention to his idea that trump was making gains in these states and it appears as though it hasn’t completely gone away or vanished but that some of that momentum in the states like virginia and new jersey may have taken a hit yesterday but again this is an off-year election we’ll see what happens in the midterms but i really think the republicans better be strategizing and thinking about the future because this is uh this is sounding the warning bell right here like like wake up there’s something happening
SPEAKER 02 :
All right. If John were with us today, we know what he’d be saying. The Republicans need to learn better branding and imaging and controlling the message and the narrative, which is something Democrats know how to do and Republicans stink at. All right. So let’s get to your backyard, New York City. In New York City, you had Zoran Mamdani, the Muslim, the anti-Semite, the admitted socialist, he uses the word socialist to describe himself. He’s really a communist. There’s not too much difference between those two. He wins, and he wins in a landslide against Andrew Cuomo, the establishment Democrat, former governor of the state. I mean, Andrew Cuomo had to be having his people tell him, why don’t you run for mayor of New York City? Well, I want to go from governor to mayor. They had to tell him, yeah, but come on, it’s yours for the taking. I mean, you can’t be the governor of the state and not win mayor. And, of course, that did happen. Curtis Sliwa, the guardian angel with his beret and whatever, he pulled 7 percent of the vote. But even him and Andrew Cuomo couldn’t crack 50 percent. So Mamdami beat both of them combined. This is – it’s an amazing message that we see of just how liberal left-wing today’s Democrat Party has become. Look at them there in New York. These people – you had Neil – young people in college campuses celebrating Hamas, okay, calling for death to Jews, death to Israel in college campuses. This Zoran Mamdami is one of them. And sure enough, he gets elected mayor of the city of New York. So, I don’t know, just your thoughts on that in general, especially as somebody who lives in New York, albeit not New York City, but still. And secondly, just We now have not only an anti-Semite, not only a socialist, but a Muslim running New York City as well as a Muslim elected lieutenant governor of Virginia. The Islamic takeover of America starting in New York and Virginia. I mean, I don’t know. What’s your take on Mamdami?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, it’s pretty frightening, to be honest. I mean, I don’t think anybody would have seen this coming a couple years ago. And then all of a sudden, here he is, and with tremendous amount of support. But this is one of those things where I almost wonder if his popularity, well, he’s young, and he’s got a great smile, that whole thing. But if you really actually look at the policies he supports, it’s pretty terrifying. He quotes Karl Marx all the time. He’s literally a socialist slash communist. And how interesting would that be as mayor of the city of capitalism, right? I mean, it’s kind of shocking ultimately. That’s where Wall Street is. Right. Well, where I was going on this is the idea that I think as much as anything, this was an anti-establishment vote. Like, you know what? We don’t trust We don’t trust established government anymore. And who better represents that than Andrew Cuomo? The other thing was that there’s been criticism of Cuomo, like that he wasn’t really taking this election seriously. I mean, Trump was giving his he was leaning towards a vote for Cuomo because we don’t want Mamdani in there. And still, that didn’t get the job done. But he took 10 days off. Cuomo took 10 days off after Labor Day. And he went vacationing on the East Coast and then, you know, came back and started refining what he was all about. Like, he didn’t have a clear message, really. He was just, you’re going to vote for me because I’m Andrew Cuomo. I was governor of the state, was pretty much what he was saying without saying it. And I think it bit him on this one. Like, you know, he got beaten handily. It wasn’t even close. So it’s pretty shocking, and I don’t know how this is going to, play out but uh you know we say that i’ll say this like backwards i know i’m saying it backwards but new york is the dog that wags the tail like new york city it’s just it it so much a lot of us just wish at times that we could just cut off new york and set it out to sea a little bit make an island out of it and let it be our 51st state because the rest of new york really isn’t new york city and there isn’t a lot of support for the kind of nonsense that goes on in new york city but i This is this takes it to a whole new level. And I think that there’s an awful lot of people waking up this morning that are in shock that we elected a socialist to govern the largest city in the United States of America. It’s unbelievable.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, I wonder, Neil, if this is going to be a long term benefit for Republicans or a long term detriment for them. And I’ll be honest with you. I don’t know which one it’s going to be, but I can see two options. arguments, two opposing arguments, that both of those two arguments make sense. On one side, I can see an argument that says, hey, there’s going to be blowback because now Americans are like, oh my goodness, we’re waking up to the fact that we’re turning into a socialist nation. This is insane. We can’t do this anymore. We need to get back to conservatism. And when people see just how socialist this guy is, it’s like, do we really want to be communists? But But then there’s another part of me that’s like, well, in New York City, are people – is it going to go the opposite way? Might they be like, OK, well, guess what? There’s not a big mushroom cloud over New York. It still seems to be operating and functioning. And so since it goes on, maybe we shouldn’t be as scared as socialists as we used to be. Maybe socialism isn’t the big boogeyman that Republicans have turned it into and we can have somewhat of a normal life forever. with socialists in office. So maybe we shouldn’t be so afraid of it. And it starts creating a wave of socialists across the country winning elections. I’m also nervous that that could be the end result of this as well. And so I’d love to get your thoughts on that, Neil.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, one of the things he advocates for is raising the minimum wage to $30 an hour. And I want to know how small business owners are going to react to that, even if they’re dyed-in-the-wool Democrats, because they’re mom or their dad or their family has been voting Democrat for the last 100 years. So I don’t know how that’s going to go. He also advocated for government run grocery stores and a variety of other wacky ideas.
SPEAKER 02 :
But price controls a whole bit.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. So, you know, what happens to the economy in New York City and the state of New York in general when you start enacting these kind of policies? So I don’t know. But I, you know, on the question of like, will there be blowback? I think there’s going to be some and I hope there’s more. But But over time, you begin to get used to these things. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s what my concern is, that people get used to it and go, well, maybe it’s not so bad after all. There’s a desensitization. The taboo of socialism is removed in some people’s minds. And that to me is a potential negative concern that could happen from this. One more thing about that. I was reading an article this morning and I cut and pasted this out into my notes here today because I wanted to be able to read it. It just said a report by the Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism and Policy warned of the potential for an explosion of anti-Semitic incidents as a result of Mamdami’s victory. Quote, he has repeatedly declined to condemn the slogan, globalize the intifada, ignoring the fact that the word intifada is synonymous with terror attacks, suicide bombings, and incitement to kill Jews, the report noted. That, according to Fox News, it highlighted the lengthy set of connections to radical Islamists and concluded the anti-Semitic discourse of Mamdani will inevitably lead to increased hate and violence.
SPEAKER 02 :
I don’t know how it cannot. So, I don’t know. Another big area of the Democrat wave yesterday out in California, Proposition 50 passed, and it passed by like 64% to 36%. So a landslide passing, and this allows them to go ahead mid-census and gerrymander the districts to pick up five additional Democrat seats. Let me ask you a question about that, though. Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
yeah you know there was redistricting in texas uh going on so don’t you expect at some point like i’m i’m not happy with what happened in california but isn’t it reasonable to think that the democrats would use any opportunity they can to gerrymander districts to favor democrats in the midterm elections i think i don’t know i was amazed at what happened but there’s more to the if that’s all there was to it
SPEAKER 02 :
Then I would say, yeah, the Democrats are just doing what they did in Texas. OK, but first of all, Texas isn’t the first one that did this. You have Democrat blue states that have also redistrict gerrymandered before the census in between the 10 year census. So Texas didn’t start a precedent here. Democrat states have done that before. But you have to remember, this whole thing is tied to illegal immigration. The reason that Texas did this now instead of waiting for the 10-year census is because California has already spent the last four years rigging the system in their favor. by Joe Biden’s open borders and flooding in millions and millions of illegal aliens to go into places like California and other Democrat states. And so by Democrats already rigging the system to basically give them more of an advantage in the House of Representatives already because they count in their populations illegal immigrants as well. And so since the Democrats have been giving themselves this advantage, This is where Republicans and Texas are like, you know what? We can’t wait just every 10 years to try to fight back against this because the Democrats have been cheating on their behalf, using illegal immigrants to increase our congressional districts. And they do that year after year after year. when Democrats are in power. So we have to counter that a little bit. So this is why in Texas, I do believe it’s understandable for them to say, we have to do something to try to hold onto our narrow lead in the House of Representatives because the Democrats are stacking the deck using illegal immigrants to have a blue wave of their own. So this is the Republicans way in Texas of fighting back against what the Democrats have continued to do. The Democrats in California, They want to try to look at the redistricting thing in a vacuum, go, well, Texas did it, so we’ll do it. But no, it’s all tied in to Democrats rigging the system with millions of illegal immigrants.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. Appreciate that explanation. That’s the difference.
SPEAKER 02 :
But it’s still successful. They still passed this, you know.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, resoundingly. Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
I know. I know. What do you think about the government shutdown of this? I said this at the beginning of the podcast that The Democrats in this case, this is absolutely, Neil, a Democrat shutdown of the government because, and I don’t want to get too inside politics here, but the Republicans have offered now, I think, 13 or 14 times what’s called a clean deal. CR, a clean continuing resolution. A clean continuing resolution says we’re not going to make any changes to the spending. We’ll go ahead and keep the status quo for a few more weeks just while we go ahead and debate these issues. So the Republicans are in power. They won the election and they said to the Democrats, we will agree to maintain your liberal left wing Biden era spending. We’ll keep that spending and give you a clean continuing resolution. And we’ll even give you the Obamacare subsidy extensions for another full year, which the Democrats are the ones who said we’re going to end this in 2025. Those Obamacare extensions, subsidy extensions, just so you know, that’s what pays the health care for decades. millions of illegal aliens. All right. That’s right. Illegal aliens, they get treated if they go in the hospital. But who pays the medical bill? Well, the medical bill is being sent to Uncle Sam so the taxpayer can pay that medical bill. That’s not right. But the Republicans said, we’ll go ahead and give you an extension for a year of that. And we’ll go ahead and give you your current spending levels. And the Democrats are saying no. We want the Obamacare extensions to be permanent, and we want you to agree to that now. And by the way, those extensions also pay for gender mutilation surgery for minors in these Democrat states as well. So Democrats are demanding that minors keep on getting gender mutilation surgery, that Illegal aliens keep on getting health care paid for by the taxpayer, and the Democrats are demanding $1.5 trillion extra dollars in additional spending, while the Republicans are saying, look, let us just give you the status quo and a little bit more, not that much more, while we debate it. And the Republicans are the one in power. But the Democrats, they have folded their arms now for over a month. People are getting their food stamps, Democrats folding their arms. But, Neil, I predict to you they were only doing this, the Democrats, to try to protect the motivation of their left-wing Marxist base in the Democrat Party to get through these elections. Now that the elections are over, now that the Democrats had their blue wave, Democrats don’t have to be afraid about angering their Marxist leftist base anymore because their Marxist leftist base already voted Democrat yesterday. And so therefore, I predict that in the next few days, Democrats are going to suddenly be willing to cave on behalf of the people. That’s my prediction. That’s pretty cynical, but I’ll bet I’m proven right. What’s your take?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. I’ll respond in a second. What do we got? 53 votes in the Senate right now? Yeah, 53-47. And you got Fetterman and a couple others. You’ve got several Democrats would join us.
SPEAKER 02 :
You got Fetterman. That’s pretty much it. That’s it? Okay. I do think there are – no, there’s – You got Fetterman, but you also have – he’s balanced out by Rand Paul, who refuses to vote for the CR. But then you do have two other Democrats, yes, that have joined. So really they’re at 55-45 for the government. They need 60 to shut down the filibuster.
SPEAKER 03 :
So, okay, just so people clearly understand, and you did a great job describing it, but the bottom line is the government could be open tomorrow if five more Democrats would say – OK, we’ll vote for this continuing resolution, which just means that for a period of time, however long, we will continue to operate with all the status quo that’s going on. But we’re going to decide what the future looks like during this time. We’re going to buy ourselves some time to figure it out. And so the government can be open tomorrow. And none of these tax credits, the Obamacare things go away while we decide what it’s going to look like in the future. And they won’t sign it. This is totally a Democrat government shutdown.
SPEAKER 02 :
I’m telling you, Neil. They’re going to sometime in the next few days. You’re going to get at least five. Chuck Schumer is going to decide, all right, which five of you are allowed to go ahead and vote for this now that we can reopen the government? We’ll make it look like Democrats are being heroes.
SPEAKER 03 :
But again, I wish John was here. He’d be going bananas because the Republicans haven’t handled the messaging well on this. Why doesn’t Donald Trump… you know, host a nationwide press conference tonight, go live and explain this whole thing. Because once the Democrats flip and vote for it, now that the elections are over, just the way you described it, once this happens, they’re going to take credit for reopening the government. Like all of it ends up as a benefit to the Democrat party. And they’re the ones who caused the problem in the first place. It’s unbelievable.
SPEAKER 02 :
And the media is going to reward the Democrats because the Democrats are going to play this like the Republicans are the one that shut it down, but the Democrats are the one that reopened it. Yeah. You know, they want their cake and eat it, too. A hundred percent. Help them do that.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
And that’s just what brings up the filibuster. OK, Neil, Donald Trump is aggressively telling the Republicans and the filibuster now. And for those who don’t know the inside politics of this, OK, filibuster means that you can basically block a vote. from even being voted on, but it takes 60 votes to overcome a filibuster, which is called a cloture. Well, the next step is whatever party is in power can actually get rid of the filibuster. That would be called the nuclear option. And Trump is saying to the Republicans, you guys are in power. Why don’t you just get rid of the filibuster and we can spend the next year ramming through all of our conservative policies and judges and appointments and everything that we want. But the Republicans are saying, No, because if we do that, then the Democrats, if they get power next year, then we don’t have the filibuster to stop them if they try to ram through. Trump’s counter argument to that is they’re going to do it anyway. And I agree with Trump on this. Democrats are going to do this anyway. They already tried. A couple of years ago when they had power, they tried to end the filibuster. The only reason that they couldn’t is because you had two Democrats senators who wouldn’t go along with it. They were Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. Those were the two most moderate Democrat senators. And they said, no, we’re not going to end the filibuster. Guess what? Neither one of them are in the Senate now. So all the Democrats would lose is John Fetterman on this. So the Democrats, if they get control, they’re going to they are going to end the filibuster. So I think Trump is right. Let’s seize our opportunity now and run through what we can. So I, you know, I’m getting myself on a rant, Neil. No, I mean, up on on the clock. But take about if you would take about 20, 30 seconds. Give your take on that. And then if you would share with us about SunPower LED, too.

Well, I think probably the biggest thing I want to say is that I agree 100 percent that the Democrats will do it when it meets their narrative, when it serves their purpose. You know, and you’ve got, in a sense, one bullet in the chamber and you’re going to shoot it now or you’re going to shoot it later. And I just think that the Republicans might as well use this to their advantage now because they’re going to lose the opportunity later and. I agree with you on all of that. So it’s a messy, ugly situation, but I hope and pray that they’ll resolve it quickly and in a way that allows the Republicans to be seen as the ones who didn’t create this problem.
