On this episode of Victorious Faith, CHERRI Campbell continues teaching from The God of Miracles series by exploring powerful lessons from Jesus’ healing ministry. Focusing on the Roman centurion whose faith amazed Jesus, Cherri explains the importance of spiritual authority, speaking God’s Word in faith, and refusing to tolerate sickness or defeat in any area of life. This encouraging message reminds believers that Jesus paid for healing, peace, and restoration through redemption.
SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message that I’ve been sharing with you all this week that I preached in a six message series in our Victorious Faith services called The God of Miracles. And this is message two in that series called Lessons from Jesus Healing Miracles Part One. So join me now in our live service for part four of this message, Lessons from Jesus Healing Miracles Part One. Atheists get sick, but what did they learn? Nothing. Sickness doesn’t teach anybody anything. The Holy Spirit teaches. And God said in 1 Timothy 3.16, all scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction. in righteousness, doctrine and instruction for the word and from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit and the word will teach you. There is never a scripture that says sickness teaches anything. Atheists get sick and they are not taught to fear God. The Holy Spirit teaches you to fear God, trust God, grow spiritually. The word of God teaches you the doctrine and the word. The word is given for your instruction to teach you to know God, to fear God, to walk in his ways, to trust him. It comes by the Holy Spirit and the word, never sickness. Sickness comes through sin via the devil. Why would God use something from sin? To teach you. Which is another proof that it’s not his will. Because is sin God’s will? No. Sin never is God’s will. So then why would the result of sin, the curse, be God’s will? And Jesus came to redeem us from the curse. Which is sickness. Sickness is under the curse. You can find that specifically in Deuteronomy 28. All the sicknesses that are under the curse. Sickness is under the curse. The curse comes through sin. Jesus died on the cross to redeem you from sin and the curse of sin. He will never use the curse to put it on you to teach you something. He gives you the Holy Spirit to teach you and he gives you his word. He does not want any part of the curse in your life. Hallelujah. And the great crowds came. You might think, oh, but I’m so unworthy to be healed. Well, Get born again. And if you’re born again, God has made you worthy by the blood. The blood washed you and you need to stop calling yourself unworthy. Then you’re saying the blood is no good. You are really speaking against the blood, the power of the blood to wash you and redeem you. If you continue to say you’re no good, unworthy after you’re saved, after you’ve received the blood, but you still think you’re no good, then you’re saying the blood didn’t do anything for you. No, the blood washed you, the blood cleansed you, and the blood restored you into right relationship with God. And now you are in right standing with God and through him, not because of you. See, the difference is you don’t claim the credit. You don’t take glory or credit for being worthy. You give him the glory. It was his blood. He paid for it. He brought you into his presence and restored you. He gets the glory for you being worthy. But you are because he brought you into his family. He redeemed you. And so in all those multitudes, do you think there was any sinner that got healed? Absolutely. Tens of thousands of people from town to town, all the sick were healed. There are probably drunkards healed. Probably cheats and liars got healed. Maybe adulterers got healed. Probably. All kinds of people were in the multitudes. Great crowds, great multitudes followed him coming from all the towns and villages. He healed them all. That means he healed those that weren’t even living right. Well, they say that, and it is true, it’s proven, miracles are the calling card of the gospel. That’s why overseas there are great miracles in Africa and in India. And those people don’t know God. In India, they’re idol worshipers. But God heals a mass of people and miracles are done like in Benny Hinn crusades that used to take place. God healed many idol worshipers. Why? To draw them. Healing draws. Healing is a gospel calling card. And so God wants to heal everybody. God’s nature is a healing nature. The ministry of Jesus is the will of God in action. He healed them all. What can God heal? What will God heal? Anything and everything. Don’t put up with anything, not even chronic things. So if you have a chronic allergy… Or chronic asthma. Or chronic high blood sugar. Or high blood pressure. Don’t just get used to it. You see, the Lord said this to me one time. Toleration is the enemy of manifestation. Toleration is an enemy of manifestation. Because if you tolerate it, you just start living with it and putting up with it. You’re not fighting against it with your faith. You’re just going to put up with it. Well, you’re going to keep it. You won’t receive a manifestation of healing. Now, let’s look at another example. And I don’t think I’m going to get through all these examples tonight. We might just continue it in our next service because there’s really a lot of lessons to learn. But let’s look at another example of healing. And let me just reiterate the point of the last one. The leper asked, if you are willing, you can. Jesus answered, I am willing. He answered it once and for all, for all people, for all time. That’s his answer for all people for all time. And not only that, but in addition to that, then he went to the cross and he bore the curse, all of it. He bore sin and he bore the curse of sin and death. He bore sickness and disease. It says by his stripes, we were healed and through his poverty, we are made rich. And the punishment that brought us peace was upon him. So he paid for everything that sin brought, the curse of sin, so that we could be redeemed from it. And then Galatians 3, 13 and 14, that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law, which is actually essentially the same as the curse of sin and death. In the law, it was put in writing, but it was the curse, same curse that came in Genesis 3 when Adam and Eve sinned. So Jesus redeemed us from the curse. All right. Number two, next example, lesson from the ministry of Jesus, the centurion’s servant, Matthew eight verses five to 13. When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him. Now that he’s a Roman asking for help. Lord, he said, my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering. Jesus said to him, I will go and heal him. See, he was willing. He never said no to anybody. Verse eight, the centurion replied, Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof, but just say the word and my servant will be healed. Just say the word. My servant will be healed. Verse nine. For I myself am a man under authority with soldiers under me. I tell this one go and he goes and that one come and he comes. I say to my servant, do this and he does it. Verse 10, when Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, I tell you the truth. I have not found anyone in Israel among all the Israelites, the Jews, anyone with such great faith. I say to you that many will come from the east and west, will take their place at the feast. Let’s skip down to verse 13. Then Jesus said to the centurion, go, it will be done just as you believed it would. And his servant was healed at that very hour. So Jesus said, I have not seen such great faith. In other words, this is the greatest example of faith that Jesus saw during his life in ministry. Not just the three and a half years of ministry, but his 30 and a half years. He has never seen such great faith as this Roman centurion. And the thing is, the centurion was a Roman, not even a Jew. He didn’t grow up going to synagogue and learning the scriptures, but he understood one thing. He said, I myself am a man under authority with soldiers under me. I tell this one go and he goes and that one come and he comes. And I say to my servant, do this. And he does it. He more than any of the Jews understood authority. He understood speaking commands. He says, I am under authority and I have men under me. He understood rank. He understood that when his superior says to him, go do this, there is no question. You just go and you do it. When he has men under him, he tells them, go do this. They do it. And that one come and he comes. He understood giving a command and it being instantly obeyed and fulfilled. So he’s a Roman centurion. You can imagine he probably stood back on the outside outskirts of the crowds to keep peace. in the mob, you know, don’t want an outbreak. The Roman centurions and the Roman soldiers were in Israel, occupying Israel to keep peace there in order to keep them under the Roman empire, Roman emperor. So they were there to keep their control, but they were also to keep any uprising from happening, to squash it if they saw it. So they were there whenever they saw a crowd. Ooh, that’s potential danger. Danger. Ding, ding, ding. Send out the troops. Make sure there are plenty of soldiers on hand when there are multitudes of people gathered because an uprising can start even against one of their own. And so the Romans were there. There was a mob crowd following Jesus. This Roman centurion watched him long enough that as the sick person after sick, after sick, after sick came, he cast out the demons with the word. He commanded the sick be healed. Take up your mat and walk. Stretch forth your hand. He was constantly all day long in some places, you know, like Beatitudes. He taught them all day. And then the next day he healed them for days. You know, all the sick were brought to him. And the Roman centurion is there in the crowd watching. He just gives a command. Everything he says, he commands that sickness go, that demon go, and it instantly happens. I’ve been standing here all day and I’ve watched him heal hundreds. All he needs to do is say the word and my servant will be healed. What you just heard was part four of message two in a six message series that I preached in our victorious faith services called the God of miracles. This message is called lessons from Jesus healing miracles. Part one. We will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
